To equip government officials with a deeper perspective on the impact and implications of digital assets, Temasek Foundation is partnering Wealth Management Institute (WMI) to offer a digital assets programme, supported by its Hon Sui Sen Endowment.
Bringing together delegates from Asian central banks and financial regulatory institutions, the programme focuses on technologies and solutions that enable transfers of digital assets and central bank digital currencies, and explores the implications of non-traditional financial services players offering financial services products.
The Implications of Digital Assets and Non-Traditional Financial Services Players in Asia programme is offered by invitation and is one of six modules in the Advanced Diploma in Finance and Markets for Policymakers Programme. It can also be taken as a standalone module.
The programme covers the emergence of digital banks around the world. It explores the technology and capabilities of Blockchain, DLT and Web 3.0, with discussions on decentralised finance. Also integral to the programme are panel discussions featuring crypto and digital currencies experts. In addition, WMI facilitates weekly sessions where participants get to network virtually.
This programme is making its debut at a time of growing use and acceptance of cryptocurrency and digital assets, to provide government officials with a deeper perspective of the impact and implications of digital assets, and equip them with the knowledge to better formulate policies and guidelines, as well as to facilitate international communication and create a cohesive community in the region.
