Decentralised Carbon Capture for Urban Spaces

The Singapore University of Technology and Design has developed a potentially disruptive solution in the form of a low-energy decarboniser unit that can be implemented in land-scarce urban states with a high population density. They aim to pilot its decarboniser units to capture at least 50 per cent of carbon dioxide in buildings, and establish the offtake of the carbon dioxide to end-user utilisation streams. Modular decarboniser units will be integrated within the air-handling units of buildings.
