Nanyang Technological University is developing a model predictive control system with real-time dynamic optimisation for building cooling systems. Upon integration with Johnson Controls’ smart retrofit chiller system, the technology can generate up to 40 per cent energy savings in a building. Such a technology simultaneously ensures thermal comfort and energy efficiency of building cooling systems.
