Netatech is test-bedding their prototype, Vertical FoodStage, at an existing building to produce leafy vegetables of higher yield at a commercial scale. Having a farm on the façade wall of HDB flats will also bring food production close to the residents, which offers job opportunities to the residents, produces fresh food for the community as well as increases awareness of how food is produced especially for the young generation. The Vertical FoodStage also pushes the boundary of food security through the growing of rice in an urban setting.
