Casa Raudha Women Home

Casa Raudha Women Home is a crisis shelter that provides a temporary safe haven for abused and homeless women and their children. The programme removes mistreated women and their children from the immediate source of abuse and helps them to explore options for rebuilding their lives.

The Home took in its first intake in early 2012 and caters to women between 21 and 60 years old, and their children, if they are girls under 21 years old or boys under 12 years old. Residents are expected to move on from the shelter within a period of three to four months.

While in the shelter, residents are provided with counselling to deal with their emotional trauma, financial support for living expenses and advice on their rights and options. They are also connected to longer-term programmes that help them with skills training and job placement.

From 2012 to 2015, Temasek Foundation supported the Home which benefitted 452 abused women and children.
