Temasek Foundation KITS (Kids in Tough Situations) was a pilot programme to build community capability to support and help vulnerable children who face emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties, of mild to moderate severity, following a traumatic event.
Under the programme, school counsellors, community social workers and therapists received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) so as to enable them to provide trauma treatment to the community and accessible therapy for children, as well as raise the awareness and knowledge about trauma, its impact and how and when to seek treatment. The growing network of trained therapists will be able to provide trauma therapy to children in the event of emergencies and crisis.
