This family and marriage counselling programme was specially catered for the needs of the Malay/Muslim community, taking into consideration language, cultural and religious influences. The programme included:

- Comprehensive marriage counselling services in follow-through cases referred from Syariah Court
- Intervention services for at-risk families to improve their relationships, with the objective of encouraging the families to stay together
- Building up specialised resources in the area specific to the community
- Training of counsellors in community organisations on marriage counselling and family therapy skills for Malay/Muslim families
