The ‘Refreshing Traditions’ programme gives SOTA students the opportunity to explore and participate in various local and traditional Asian art forms, like Chinese Opera, Dikir Barat, Bharatanatyam Dance or Rattan Weaving. Comprising a series of workshops and masterclasses, the programme fosters appreciation for these traditional art forms and inspires the younger generation to reimagine how these can preserved and revitalised for the future.

Of the more than 800 students who participated in the programme, 90% indicated having a deeper understanding of the art forms and 81% were able to connect their Refreshing Traditions experience back to their own selected art course in the areas of Dance, Film, Literary Arts, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts.
