Increasing Appreciation and Knowledge of Orchestral Music Through Music Enrichment Programme

Temasek Foundation is supporting the Singapore National Youth Orchestra in conducting a series of educational modules and instrumental workshops and masterclasses for Singapore students.

Held since June 2021, the 10-month programme is aimed at increasing appreciation and knowledge of orchestral music among students.

For the educational module, 12 short videos are being produced to introduce instrument families and showcase the instruments through performance pieces. These videos will be made available to music teachers in primary schools and the wider student population. Students across 10 schools are expected to benefit from the programme by acquiring new skills and knowledge.

Three instrumental workshops and masterclasses were also conducted for some 30 music students. These classes were supplemented by lectures and recitals.
